One early problem with the race course was the need to cross the busy road, US Highway 93 to allow access to a more open and swim-friendly section of water for the 1.5KM swim. This problem, however has been solved, as the city of Polson has constructed a paved walking path under the Veterans Memorial Bridge (watch video). Instead of needing to shut down the road, or post traffic guards, participants will use this underpass and will be completely safe.
