Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 (JDQ39) Update – How to get it now!

Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 Update

The Android 4.2.2 update is now available for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. It has been leaked and is available to boot on your own for some time now, but it is now available as an over the air update. Many sources are saying that to get the update you can clear the cache of, and then force stop the “Google Services Framework“, but this method is not guaranteed to work. There are a few extra steps to take.

Here are the complete instructions to get the Over-The-Air Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4.2 Update:

Head into Settings>Apps>All. Find “Google Services Framework” and “Clear data” and “Force stop” the app, also click “Disable.” Then find the “Google Services Framework” again by going back. The app will not be listed in alphabetical order, it will be at the bottom of the list. Now “Enable” the app and then hit “Back” twice and scroll down to “About phone.” Then tap “System updates” and it should give a last checked date of something like 3/12/68. A system update will then pop up.

The update will download and install over the air.
